« All my jewels share
a common quality:
they carry symbols of
strength and affirmation.
To wear them is to make
that force one’s own. »
Gabriela Sismann has established a singular signature within the landscape of contemporary jewellery: a house devoted to transforming ancient objects into jewels of presence.
For centuries, certain jewels have served to protect. Gabriela Sismann offers a contemporary, irreverent reading of this lineage, creating jewels of protection rooted in History.
« I seek to establish, with
the object, a relationship of
presence: a presence that
stirs, awakens, and settles
an emotion, an inner
state. »
A LINKS TO THE PAST,
WORN IN THE PRESENT.

Where many jewellery houses draw inspiration from the past, Gabriela Sismann begins with the past itself.
Each piece begins with an authentic ancient object: a reliquary fragment, an ex-voto, a costume button… Sourced with rigour, these objects are studied, authenticated, and placed in context before being transformed.

Gabriela Sismann makes the trace of time wearable. Her gesture preserves the authority of the ancient object while carrying it into the present, against the skin.
A RECOVERED FUNCTION:
PRESENSE AS SILENT PROTECTION

Historically, a significant number of jewels served an apotropaic function: to ward off harm, to protect, to accompany. Gabriela Sismann reactivates this dimension to create jewels of resolutely contemporary character.

Gabriela Sismann jewels are not accessories: they are a presence. Jewels to be lived with, felt, and anchored by.

An antique dealer and art historian specialising in early European sculpture, Gabriela Sismann defines a practice of patrimonial transformation in jewellery. This expertise lies at the heart of her approach. Each creation is accompanied by a piece dossier: dating, material, interpretation, number, and conservation recommendations.
« To wear my jewels is
to enter into a relationship
with time that is both intimate
and tangible. My creations are
worn close to the self and are,
at heart, a philosophical
exercise in the appropriation
of time.»
