Drawing on an international network, Gabriela Sismann selects ancient objects from specialised sources — markets, antique dealers, private collections — for the strength of their symbolic charge and the singularity of their iconography.

The singularity of each jewel lies in its origin: an ancient fragment. Gabriela Sismann therefore creates unique pieces — or, where the source allows, series of the utmost rarity.

Each piece is the subject of a close reading: analysis of materials, stylistic coherence, dating clues, state of preservation, and available provenance.

Each piece is accompanied by a piece dossier including: description, iconographic analysis, materials, estimated period, interventions carried out, and provenance.

Each intervention is conceived to preserve the trace of time. It is always made explicit and fully assumed.

Each Gabriela Sismann jewel is conceived as a bespoke proposition: the way a piece is worn may be adjusted, in keeping with its original structure and balance.

All pieces are crafted in France, in ateliers selected for the excellence of their craftsmanship. Each is the result of meticulous work, carried out in full respect of the ancient object.

The ancient objects are identified and authenticated by Gabriela Sismann, antique dealer and art historian. The provenance of each piece is recorded in its piece dossier.

The character of the object and the patina of time are preserved in every Gabriela Sismann jewel. During the transformation, points of fragility are reinforced and wear secured, so that the object may be made fully inhabitable in the present.
